I've started running into issues where squeezebox server (through
squeeezeslave) can't resolve opml.radiotime.com. Here is the full
message:

[11-06-18 09:10:49.0562] Slim::Utils::Scanner::Remote::__ANON__ (237)
Error: Can't connect to remote server to retrieve playlist for,
http|//opml.radiotime.com/Tune.ashx?id=s13606&formats=aac,ogg,mp3,wmpro,wma,wmvoice&partnerId=16&serial=977e69e221e1df668964da983ff434f5:
Couldn't resolve IP address for: opml.radiotime.com.

(URL modified to replace : with | as I haven't posted previously)

If I immediately take that and put in a browser - no problem. Then
going back and retrying through squeezeslave it works.

Any ideas?

Squeeseslave is the player - it is running on the same machine as the
server.

Radio Paradise
Soma FM
HFS2

are some of the stations

"Couldn't resolve IP address" - sounds like a DNS problem and the reason
it works after you use your browser is that your OS refreshes the DNS
cache after the browser access the page...
If running windows you might try to add the IP to you hosts file,
windows looks here first before trying your DNS server...

Thanks for the reminder to look into obvious items. The next time I see
this I will do my own nslookups to see if the server is slow or timing
out. It's possible the browser tries harder (more attempts) than
squeezeserver to resolve the address.

Regardless it should be a permanent fix by adding it to etc/hosts as
you suggest.
