LMS and Squeezebox were working fine - only bought QNAP couple of months
ago and first installation worked well. Ran "Clear Library and rescan
all" option - seems to only spot album art but does not recognise and
index any music files. can't figure out whats happened. Can see all
files still there, can play with Music Station, but LMS rescans always
say "zero artists, zero songs zero albums". I think all settings are
correct, so I'm baffled. Any suggestions???

Have you recently updated the QNAP firmware? Some users report issues on
a recent update. Check out the QNAP forums:

Are you running LMS on the QNAP?

..... also suggest clearing the contents of the LMS cache folder on the
QNAP.

Only just got back on this. Will try both suggestions. I am running LMS
on the QNAP, and have upgraded to latest firmware. I'll let you know how
I get on.

Just turn off LMS find and delete the LMS cache folder, it will be
created again when you start LMS.

On PC/Mac installs (guessing same for NAS?) the LMS cache folder
location is listed in LMS > Settings > Information > Cache Folder
